Dinosaur Egg Discovery

The first dinosaur eggs found were discovered in France in 1869. The oval-shaped Hypselosaurus eggs were 12 inches or 30 cm long and probably weighed in at 15 lbs or 7 kg. The tiniest dinosaur eggs ever found were from Mussaurus and had a length of about 1 inch. Although dinosaur eggs were initially discovered in 1869, it wasn’t until 1922 that the entire world started paying attention to dinosaur eggs and nests. An expedition led by Roy Chapman Andrews through the Gobi desert shed new light on the amazing facts revealed by the nests of dinosaurs. This expedition was documented by National Geographic.
