Many fossil plants have never been discovered and can be found all over the world. The most famous locality for amber, or fossilized tree sap, is the Baltic around Samland Promontory. In this location, many insects were fossilized in the sap of now extinct pine trees known as Pinus succinifera. There are Petrified Forests in Arizona (The Petrified Forest of Arizona), Wyoming (Yellowstone National Park), Argentina (The Petrified Forest National Monument), Egypt (Cairo) and California (Calistoga). Many fossil leaves and seeds can be found in West-Central Nevada. Some good fossil plant localities include Bull Run in Elko County Nevada, Aldrich Hill in Nevada, Buffalo Canyon in Nevada, The Dead Camel Range in Nevada, the Ione Basin in California, Red Rock Canyon State Park in California, Pleistocene Lake Manix in California and Death Valley National Park in California.
